With a bag of booze and a shit-all attitude, this clans currently touring the great white MidNorth – hold your children close. This rowdy bunch of lickers make it their job to befriend all the punks, drunks and junks between Pittsburgh and Detroit.

In true toughness, Mikeaholocaust is back on the road again after being struck by a minivan late last summer. And don’t expect he’ll be in a wheel cheer – the “best band in the world” doesn’t sit back while their fans take a beating for them, to them, they join in – metal shins and all. I’ll argue that their arrogance, backed by over 200 packed shows, is the driving force behind their ruckus. Mikeaholocaust, Chunx, Mattholes and 16Tons have been playing basement shows, promoted by self made fliers, for stage diving, mic grabbing, circle pitting, finger breaking, fists in the air punks for two years – an apparent accomplishment for a band that formed because of a boredom based conversation.

The sound is straight up punk as it gets; simple, loud, hard, with minimal self control and a battle cry for girls to show their boobies. The name is, presumably, a reference to Machine Head’s song Alcoholocaust about the affirmation a drunkard receives that the world belongs to him after a long night of chug-a-lugging. Maybe there was some real thought behind the words, and here I was, starring at the picture of Mikeaholocaust in a beater thinking how very sexy it all was, but wondering what I would write about. “Look out for us around your town as we prepare for the road, if you blink you’ll miss it. F’ the world, up the punx and cheers,” love The Alcoholocaust.
