This Saturday, overstimulate yourself with a museum full of small press books, magazines, comics and poster art. Not for the illiterate.
This is the third year for the fair and Just Buffalo, the event’s founders, are ensuring that it will continually outdo years past. Peddlers come from all over the great Northeast: New York City, Baltimore, Toronto, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and of course the best of them come from Buffalo. These vendors ring in Buffalo Springtime by showcasing their talents and congregating with fellow enthusiasts. Guests use the event as an excuse to reunite with old friends, return to their home town and reinvigorate their creativity for another year by feeding off the camaraderie that flows through the literary community that day and through out the year.
According to their website, the fair has been restructured to incorporate free skill-building workshops. “We have a few changes in mind this year, but we hope it will keep the fair fresh and interesting”, says
Chris Fritton, organizer. “Instead of doing readings on site, we’ll be doing them the night before at a different location. In place of the readings, we’ll be holding workshops the day of the fair in skills related to book making: screenprinting, bookbinding, etc.”

Planned are readings by more than 30 authors, and the night will culminate with a reading by acclaimed New York City poet, Anselm Berrigan. Be sure to plan for both events, the Queen City is one of many that needs the support and encouragement from its residents.
