We rarely get up to Boston, despite the lure of it’s gritty pubs, blue collar musicians and outdoor markets. When we do, what we find is amazing pockets of artists who are motivated by the seasonal depression into creating the hardest of hardcore tattoos, innovative organic sculpture, gut wrenching tunes and fantastical characters.
Ria Brodell falls into the latter category with her mythical aviary creatures and jovial whales. Though in Boston, you never know if its the blurred beer-o-vision or a real Northern Birdman.
